TRAVEL

Airports

The most convenient airport—and the largest—that serves downtown San Diego is the San Diego International Airport (SAN), located approximately 0.5 miles from the conference hotel.  3225 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, California 92101, (619) 400-2404

If you’re staying in LA or planning a trip throughout Southern California, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a viable option for travel. The Los Angeles airport is located two to three hours from downtown San Diego, depending on traffic. One of the largest airports in the world, LAX has daily flights by multiple carriers and is sure to serve your city of origin or destination. 1 World Way, Los Angeles, CA 90045, (310)646-5252

Ground Transportation

The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina offers a complimentary shuttle Mon-Sun: 05:00 AM – 00:00 AM between the SAN airport and hotel.  Taxi service is available from SAN airport.  Estimated taxi fare: 10 USD (one way).  All major rental car companies are located at both airports (SAN an LAX).   If you plan to drive to the venue, please note that the hotel charges a on-site parking fee of 8 USD hourly, 35 USD daily.  Valet parking service is also available for 40 USD daily.

Getting Around Town

The Yellow Cab of San Diego is a reliable way to travel, as well as affordable—just $2.70 a mile. Once in San Diego, you can call (619)444-4444, text 777222 for service or make a reservation online.

The Metropolitan Transit System has bus and trolley routes that service nearly all parts of the county. The San Diego trolley has 53 stations and runs on three lines (the Orange, Blue and Green). It hits many of popular places around San Diego such as the Gaslamp Quarter, Convention Center, Seaport Village and Old Town. While the trolley doesn’t run to the airport, the bus does. There are 89 fixed MTS bus routes, including two that run to the airport and others that also stop at the Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego Zoo, Sea WorldOld Town and nearly any other popular destination. One way fare runs at $2.25 for the bus and $2.50 for the trolley, but day passes can be purchased for $5.

The Coronado Ferry runs regularly across San Diego Bay, between the Broadway Pier and the Convention Center in downtown San Diego and the Coronado Ferry Landing. A 15-minute ride one way, the ferry provides gorgeous views of the downtown skyline and the Coronado Bridge.
